Weekly Reflection
Easter and Passover, a Time of Celebration!
By: Sandra V. Padilla, April 13, 2009
This week we celebrate the end of slavery and the start of a journey to the Promised Land. We celebrate the end of the man named Jesus and the resurrection of Jesus the Christ. We, Jews and Christians, celebrate that the covenant made to us in the desert is as alive today as it was in the time of Moses. We recognize that God is with us and will walk with us through the good and not so good times. We walk in hope because we know that the journey is worthwhile.
As spiritual directors, God gives us not only the opportunity to experience the joy of freedom but the opportunity to share it with others. This week we are called to remind those we companion of that joy. Have you thought of a special way to do this? There are many ways… we are planning to do something simple … we are planning to call those who we closely serve to remind them that our walk with God today is a renewal and a reminder of the freedom God gives us and the promise that God will be with us if we continue to nurture the relationship.
May these celebrations fill your heart with joy and inspire you to share it with those you serve!
